In response to the call of the Government and with the desire of providing support to the Border Guard, Fisheries Surveilance Force, Maritime Police and fishermen to continue their operations and protection of the national sovereignty, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank) has donated VND 1 billion for“Love and support for national border, sea and island” Program.
“Love and support for national border, sea and island” program is organized by the Steering Committee for South West in cooperation with the Border Guard Command, Command of the Fifth Naval Region, Maritime Police Region 4, Military Zone No. 9, and Mekong Delta provinces and cities in order to enhance people’s awareness of border security protection and socio-economic development in relation with national border security protection. The program has called for donation from philanthropists, enterprises to support the Border Guard, Fisheries Surveilance Force, Maritime Police and fishermen in improving their operational competency, devices, tools and continuing their tasks of protecting Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoàng Sa (Paracel Island) and Trường Sa (Spratly Island). In addition, the program also calls for the donation to support the construction of houses for officers, soldiers and people facing difficulties at border regions.
The money donated by enterprises and individuals would be given to about 1,200 families of officers, soldiers serving in the Border Guard, Navy Force, Fisheries Surveilance Force, Maritime Police and poor families working and living at border regions, islands; In details, those would be supported with houses worthy VND 40 million each.
