SeABank staff donates 300 mil. to the poor

In the afternoon of Dec. 25th 2009, at SeABank’s Head Office at 25 Trần Hưng Đạo- Hoàn Kiếm- Hà Nội, a ceremony was held to launch the “Fund for the poor” as part of the “Great link of arms”. Held annually by the Vietnam National Television in response to the “Day for the Poor” movement activated by the Fatherland Front of Vietnam. Designed to link good-willed deeds to the country’s poorest, the program has enjoyed psotive reception from the wider community.

After the ceremony, each SeABank employee voluntarily contributed his one day’s salary as donation. The bank’s management has also directed the promotion of the campaign at all outlets natiowide. All the proceeds, estimated at 300 mil. will be delivered by SeABank’s representative at the  “Great link of arms” held on Dec. 31st 2009 before being transferred to those in need.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Đặng Bảo Khánh – Deputy General Director of SeABank said: “SeABank has long been known for its active role in social and charity activities. We have always reckoned that sustainable must go hand in hand with social responsibilities. Therefore, SeABank has organized and participated in many contribution campaigns to support the poor. The contributions made at this event are yet another demonstration of SeABank staff’s sympathy with their poor compatriots”.

After charity activities that SeABank has participated such as the “Fast walking, Fast Thinking” Campaign to support flood victims, the Walk “Golden Star of Việt Nam – for the Country’s future”, the Anti-Natural Disaster Fund of Hanoi People’s Committee, this pro-poor campaign is a repeated evidence of SeABank  - a socially responsible banker.

In the spirit of “Mutual support”, “mutual reliance“, and a wish to bring better life values to poorer compatriots, this pro-poor activity shall become an annual event of SeABank.
